    Hello hello
My name is Karina and I’m a graphic designer & illustrator based in “Vancouver”.
I love finding the aesthetics in life, and I try to incorporate everyday things into my work.
I’m keen on branding and editorial design, and enjoy playing around with illustrations and typography.

In my spare time I’m baking, taking long walks, or buying useless trinkets online.
Talk to me about anything ✌︎

Layout/Print Design | Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop

I love music more than anything. As a self-serving project, I wanted to challenge myself by designing posters for some of my favourite songs by some of my favourite artists. Each of these posters took me around an hour to complete, and I'll hopefully continue to add to the collection, and update the designs as I progress through my design career.

The first artist that I chose was Mitski. I designed posters for three of her songs: Bug Like An Angel, I Bet On Losing Dogs, and Your Best American Girl
For these posters I wanted to make them cohesive by using consistent design elements that I thought represented Mitski's "brand" the most. This includes the combination of a slab serif with a script font, the colours black, white and orange, and grainy/textured images. The grunge aesthetic combined with the soft delicate elements hopefully encompass the rough sadness that are characteristic of her songs.

The second artist that I chose was Faye Webster. I designed posters for three of her songs: I Know You, Jonny, and Kingston.
For these posters I wanted to stick to Faye Webster's signature colours of vivid blue and red to keep the designs looking "on-brand". I also created harmony across the posters by utilizing certain design elements consistently, such as the sans serif and bold script pairing, large bold titles, big blue shapes, and simple displays of the lyrics. I'm hoping these stylistic choices represent the playful tunes and simple sad lyrics that Faye Webster is known for.
